2016 Winter Social
We held our 2016 Winter Social at Helium Comedy Club in Center City. The event was well attended by members, spouses, and significant others and included a social gathering prior to the show. The featured comedian was Gary Owen and he put on a great show for us. After the show, most attendees extended the night by going to a couple social gathering places.

2016 Fall Symposium - Silica Dust Regulations
Held at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia, the topic of our 2016 Fall Symposium was Silica Dust and the impact it will have on the industry in the near future as new OSHA regulations are implemented and enforced. 23rd Annual Golf Outing
We held our 23rd Annual Golf Outing on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at Rock Manor Country Club. The weather turned out to be beautiful as almost 90 golfers attended our outing. Great gifts and raffle prizes were distributed. Congratulations to the following winners:

Summer Social @ Philadelphia Union
The ICRI DelVal summer social was held at the Philadelphia Union soccer game vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, June 25th. The event included a pregame tailgate sponsored by PULLMAN and seats in a reserved section of the stadium. Although the home team lost, the event was a success as many members brought family and friends to the stadium. The stadium, located on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River, offers an amazing view over to New Jersey. It was a beautiful night for soccer, and included 5 goals.

3-D Laser Scanning
This dinner presentation provided a general overview of the capabilities of utilizing 3D laser scanners to acquire accurate existing conditions. Presenter Rob Ashley illustrated various techniques used to document industrial sites, bridge structures, roadways, and accident sites, specifically focusing on 3D Laser Scanning (3DLS). Discussions included what laswer scanners can do and not do, how to request services, how to specify required accuracies, understanding of Level of Detail (LOD), benefits, delivery types and methods, point cloud deliverables, techniques, applications and key information, required by consultants, including future applications related to BIM, GIS and Facilities Management with visualization options.

Concrete Surface Preparation Symposium
The all day event included live demonstrations of hydrodemolition by NLB Corp. and presentations on concrete surface prep using hydro-demolition by Mike Alloway, Tom McCann, and Paul Jackson, guidelines for selecting and specifying concrete surface prep by Andrew Fulkerson, the ACI/ICRI Guide to ACI 562 by Tracy Marcotte, an ICRI national update by Chris Lippman, and ICRI Certifications by Tom Donnelly.

2016 Spring Convention - Maintenance and Protection in Harsh Environments
Concrete repair and restoration professionals don’t have far to go to find harsh environments. These conditions – weather, size, scope, materials, and water depth – all fall under the definition. The convention provided an opportunity for both the novice and seasoned professionals to expand their understanding of the industry and of harsh conditions. Presentations were about surface preparation, waterproofing, RFP’s, cathodic protection, and much more.

Waterproofing The Empire State Building
At this month's dinner meeting, Mike Mudrick from KOSTER American Corp. provided information on waterproofing the 3 subterranean levels of the Empire State Building in New York City. Repairs included curtain wall grouting, negative side waterproofing, and concrete and masonry repairs.
